I was recently interviewed for a column in the alternative weekly publication San Diego CityBeat. The topic was how fans have reacted to the ongoing drama around the San Diego Chargers football team — specifically whether the team will stay in San Diego or move to another city. I talked about how Chargers fans may find themselves stuck in "anticipatory grief." I also discussed reasons why sports teams and celebrities are important to people and can become a part of their identity. I know it's a lot to ask. Holidays are intense. They can bring up expectations for the biggest joy and yet often produce the biggest heartache. My colleague, Erin Graves, and I believe there are ways to take the sting out of the season. We will be hosting a half-day, Saturday workshop in early November called Happy for the Holidays (yes, it is possible!).
This educational and fun workshop will create a supportive environment to explore typical holidays stressors and help you develop healthy skills and coping strategies. Erin and I will guide you through a variety of activities, including journaling, art-making, relaxation techniques and group sharing. This workshop is open to everyone. Maybe this year you’ll feel Happy for the Holidays after all! Date/Time: Saturday, November 7 from 9:30am-12pm Investment: $40 — holiday snacks provided! I was recently interviewed by Melvin Varghese for his successful Selling the Couch podcast. It was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed it immensely. You can find the episode posted here.
Here's what the host had to say: "Today’s interview is one from which most of us could take a lesson. Rachel Moore is currently a counseling intern, and yet she has built a private practice at a time when most people would be focused on just completing the program. Rachel is clearly motivated, and in addition to her private practice, she also interns for hospice. "I was so impressed that Rachel even had the forethought to start a private practice before her program was completed. Rachel has gained valuable experience in business and in building a practice." Click here to stream the podcast online, or download on iTunes. I'm excited to announce the first video produced for my therapy practice. Felena Hanson of Hera Hub interviews me and we discuss some common questions about the therapy process. Enjoy, and please let me know what you think! "The Artist's Way," by Julia Cameron has been called "the seminal book on the subject of creativity" and "an invaluable guide to living the artist's life." We hope you you'll join us for this proven process that opens up hearts and minds to bigger dreams! In this 12-week workshop you will:
