You're a survivor. You've developed a lot of skills to protect yourself over the years. When you were a child these skills may have been necessary. But now you find the behaviors and beliefs you've relied on in the past aren't working as well anymore. You want something different. That's where therapy comes in.
In my practice, I use EMDR therapywith my clients because of its effectiveness in treating trauma from the past. Although traditional talk therapy can provide useful insights, EMDR allows ALL parts of the mind and body to heal, not just the "thinky" part of the brain.
