Those who know me well know one of my favorite things to do in life is to facilitate the Artist's Way Workshop therapy group. I've been running these groups in one form or another in San Diego since 2006. I first participated as a member of an Artist's Way group in my early 20s, and I can safely say the experience changed my life. I realized I could be creative *and* have a job, a life, a family. I learned how creativity and life often go hand in hand — what happens in one area can influence the other. I learned so much about myself, and I've continued learning after working with the book over so many years now. Facilitating these groups is one of my favorite things because it's an honor to see participants come alive and grow in their confidence — both as artists and human beings. It's beautiful to witness, and I feel grateful to Julia Cameron for offering us a framework that is gentle, accepting, and challenging at the same time.
“In times of pain, when the future is too terrifying to contemplate and the past too painful to remember, I have learned to pay attention to right now. The precise moment I was in was always the only safe place for me.” ― Julia Cameron, The Artist's Way The next Artist's Way Workshop therapy groups begin February 2019.
