At the beginning of the year I started a project that has already become dear to my heart. I'd considered producing a podcast for a long time, and all the pieces finally came together.
I met my friend Boonie via a Facebook therapists group a couple of years ago. Through our posts in the group, we soon realized we both shared a passion for creativity and helping artists thrive. We finally had a chance to meet in person a couples of times a few months ago (we live in different parts of Southern California), and thus Sparkles Podcast was born.
If you're familiar with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, you'll understand that Boonie and I have very similar personalities (Boonie is ENFP, I am INFP; click here to learn more about MBTI and find descriptions of the types). We both hold values of wanting to be champions for others who may feel like they are misunderstood in life. Our common goals, along with our different backgrounds and perspectives, make for some fun conversations around themes such as creativity, MBTI, and mental health.
Our latest episode is: What Makes Good Therapy? We offer our opinions about what we think clients should expect from a therapist. This episode would be particularly helpful for people who are considering therapy but have never been to a therapist.
Another recent episode is: What Makes Creative People Different? Boonie and I discuss and celebrate the ways creative brains work and how creative people contribute to the world.
Some of the other topics we're considering for future episodes include self-care, what it's like to be a highly sensitive person, and how to navigate cultural differences.
